Receiving emails from the store people buy things from about deals excite people because this give them the chance to save money due to getting good deals. Free shipping is one of the best deals we could get when we shop online. I just visited www.karmaloop.com, the online store I always buy my clothes from and found that they are giving a free shipping on orders over $50 by using the code 50SHIP. Either you buy new arrival items or sale items, you will get the free shipping as long as your order costs over $50.

Karmaloop also gives exclusive deals to people who sign up to represent karmaloop, like myself, by sending them emails. For example, I got an email about a deal that gives me 20% off on MENS REGULAR priced items only.

Based on my personal experience, this source is reliable because all the given statements are facts. I get almost all of my clothes from this site and I have never had a problem with them. If you happen to have a problem with sizes or anything, you can contact them and tell them what the problem is and they will help you out. Also, “the claim is in a media source that’s usually reliable and has no obvious motive to mislead, and the original source is named” (Epstein, p.90).

  1. This source is a reliable source because it stated all the facts in the beginning. If people were misled by this advertisement then they did not read it clearly. Usually websites do not tell their costumers directly that they have to spend 50 dollars to get free shipping. It is usually after you have placed all your items to find out if you actually receive free shipping, or after you enter the website then it reveals how much you have to spend before receiving free shipping. Although people could be misled with a lot of websites, this one seems to be really reliable.

  2. I agree with your example. I actually shop on this website myself but if it weren't for the advertisements, I would not be much of a frequent shopper. Their propoganda for the discounts and free shipping are great ways to lure new customers and keep old customers loyal. The source is very reliable because they email buyers all the information that pertains to their sales and allows customers to understand what they will get in return; straightforward advertisements are the best. When advertisements are lacking information, they are basically losing business because buyers have to work harder to find out whether or not there is a sale, if certain clothes are discounted, or if a certain amount of money needs to be spent to receive free shipping. Some online websites actually do not give the information until a customer is checking out leaving a hassle of going back to their carts and possibly buying more.

  3. This is so funny! My brother was just on this web site the other day. I didn’t know what he was looking at, but now it finally explains all those boxes he keeps getting on Wednesdays. What really confuses me though is when some sites offer free shipping for all new customers, but my question is: how do you know someone is a new customer, just by an email address? I feel like companies lose business revenue with those major loopholes in their system. I have to admit I have done that a few times to get the good deals.
